EDMUND THE OLD HOUSE
By Chris O'Brien and Bernadette Trench-Thiedeman 2012 c3 Gallery
Edmund the house lived at No. 8 Urquart St Northcote,
on the banks of the Merri Creek, until he was demolished 5 years ago to make
way for townhouse apartments. Edmund was a farmhouse and was built in the
1890's before Northcote had all of its roads built. Chris has been making
models of Edmund, writing stories about him and animating movies with Edmund as
the lead actor for the last 5 years.
This fragment of Edmund is a time machine, revealing
layers of real and imagined histories, transporting people back to when
'something happened' in the front room.
Chris and Bernadette have been working together for
over 3 years, sharing a passion for model making, animation, architecture,
Google Sketch up and Beetlejuice.
