EDMUND THE OLD HOUSE

Edmund the house lived at No. 8 Urquart St Northcote, on the banks of the Merri Creek, until he was demolished 5 years ago to make way for townhouse apartments. Edmund was a farmhouse and was built in the 1890's before Northcote had all of its roads built. Chris has been making models of Edmund, writing stories about him and animating movies with Edmund as the lead actor for the last 5 years.

This fragment of Edmund is a time machine, revealing layers of real and imagined histories, transporting people back to when 'something happened' in the front room.

Chris and Bernadette have been working together for over 3 years, sharing a passion for model making, animation, architecture, Google Sketch up and Beetlejuice.

An animated documentary about the Goolarabooloo community, their connection to country and efforts at reconciliation. This project started in 2009, and is currently in production. The Goolarabooloo run an annual trail for their family and for non-indigenous people to come and walk with them for 9 days along their ancient coastal Songline. This is unfortunately threatened by the proposed LNG Gas plant, and compulsary aquisition of Walmadany (James Price Point). For more information see :

I shot this stop-motion animation for projection onto a body as part of 'Skeleton Key' , Fleur Dean's Master's project at VCA in October 2010. Footage of the piece in situ to come, its much better on the body itself

About 2 weeks ago I was asked to work on the vertical garden with french botanist Patrick Blanc, myself and 7 other gardeners planted 50 square metres of gorgeous plants into a wall of a shopping centre, which will be set up permanently!
